Berkeley Lake

Originating in 1956 as a summer retreat of fishing cabins and a few permanent homes, Berkeley Lake grew into a thriving but thoughtful community around its 88-acre namesake lake.

The approximately 2,000 residents of Berkeley Lake have proven their commitment to wise and controlled growth by purchasing nearby undeveloped lands for green space and buffer–a demonstration of community stewardship that has paid dividends.

Northeast of Norcross and west of Duluth with a northern border on the Chattahoochee River, its status as an Urban Wildlife Sanctuary and a Tree City USA make Berkeley Lake seem worlds away from its neighboring communities.
