Congratulations to Cakes by Shupan--Small Business of the Month for March 2009.
I am so blessed and honored to be selected as the ‘small business of the month’ for the month of March. The call came as a total but pleasant surprise to me. I would like to say thank you to the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and all of its members for helping me get to this place. I definitely could not have done this alone. Above all, I would like to give thanks and praises to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ for ordering my steps and allowing all of us to cross paths.
My name is Shupan Abraham and I am the owner of "Cakes By Shupan." For as long as I can remember, I've always loved the kitchen. I was and still am always cooking or baking something, always trying out new recipes.
In 1996 when our son was about to turn a year old, I saw a picture of a clown cake in a magazine that I really wanted him to have on his first birthday, but I did not know anyone who could make that cake for him. I then had an idea! I was going to read the instructions and attempt to make my son that clown cake. Determined, I purchased plastic tips from the grocery store and used regular note book paper for my icing bag. To my surprise, I made the cake without much difficulty. And then "Cakes By Shupan" was born. I started taking cake decorating classes and have continued to do so to improve and learn new techniques ever since.
We make custom designed cakes and assorted pastries and desserts for all
occasions. All of our cakes are designed to compliment the theme of your occasion.
