Congratulations to Foster Children's Foundation, November 2009 Small Business of the Month.
Foster Children's Foundation
A strong foundation that changes lives forever was born several years ago from humble beginnings. It all started when a large group of community leaders at the Gwinnett Chamber did a project to help local foster children. After 3 years of continued volunteer projects with foster children, the group saw the need for a permanent solution. Today, that project has blossomed into what is now known as the Foster Children’s Foundation, which was incorporated in 2003 and proudly serves over 1,000 children every year.
The FCF is a non-profit 501 c 3 support organization helping provide needed material and emotional resources to foster and high risk youth. Services include a Resource Center where children can shop for clothing and other daily necessities at no charge, a Mentoring Program called Tomorrow Matters® that teaches independent living skills and many other programs and projects designed to change and improve fragile young lives forever. Our goal is to raise children’s self-esteem, provide for unmet needs and help them feel they are a vital and valuable part of society.
With the help and continued support of our Chamber and community, we look forward to helping these children grow to become happy, healthy, self sufficient future community leaders themselves.
