Founded in 1993 by Ron Garrard, Garrard Construction Company prides itself on being a different kind of construction company and those who have worked for or with them agree. Garrard believes there is more to the construction process than bricks and mortar— but that a solid foundation of trust and confidence is needed. This could explain the company’s steady growth since inception and its 80 percent repeat client record. Garrard is a family-owned and operated company with its values defining not only its operations but how clients are treated as well.
“Building what lasts,” is Garrard’s motto – whether it is a quality building or a long-term relationship –they strive to invest in the things that surpass time. With this endeavor, Ron’s vision remains to be a fully integrated construction and professional services provider.
Garrard, incorporated in Gwinnett, has enjoyed the prosperity of doing business here ever since. Garrard has been actively involved in the Gwinnett Chamber through being a Chairman’s Club Member and a Partnership Gwinnett contributor. Ron serves on the Chamber Board, the Executive Board as well as the Board of Trustees for Georgia Gwinnett College. He is also active as Vice-President of the Chamber Membership Campaign, the Community Foundation as well as Gwinnett’s Great Day of Service.
Recently, Garrard acquired the Program Management division of Cobb County-based The Facility Group. This acquisition continues Ron’s vision of being more than just a contractor by providing a wide array of professional services. This Program Management division specializes in providing owners representative services, planning, and design services to K-12 schools, higher educational institutions, private sector clients and governmental services. As former school administrators, facility directors, and planners who are responsible for the development of a wide array of school facilities, this group brings unique expertise and understanding of what it takes to assist owners in managing the day-to-day aspects of the program from finance to concept to occupancy.
One of Garrard’s current projects in Gwinnett is building One Sugarloaf Centre for Brand Properties. The premier building is a Class A, 4-story, Silver Leed Certified building located at Sugarloaf and I-85. This will be Garrard’s new office as well as the home to many other Gwinnett companies Garrard does business with such as Moore Stephens Tiller, Andersen Tate Carr, Arlington Capital, Mason Family Management Company, LLC and others.
According to Ron, “the Chamber is a great organization to not only meet great business contacts and potential clients, but also for understanding what is going on in the county and the issues facing Gwinnett that will ultimately impact your business in one way or another.” Ron Garrard’s personal favorite event is the Washington DC Fly-In. “The Fly-In is not just about the people who participate, it also allows you to present the needs of your community to our Washington officials and ask for federal support and alignment,” said Garrard.
