Gwinnett's Parks

The national award-winning Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation Department has it all—ball fields, aquatic centers, community centers, museums, trails, skate parks and more! Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation operates 32 parks and facilities and has one of the most ambitious greenspace programs in the nation with over 8,000 + acres of park land. Seventeen new parks are currently scheduled for future development.

In addition to phenomenal park land acquisition, new facilities include four community centers, four aquatic centers, two tennis centers, a roller hockey rink, two skate bowls, a playground for children with special needs, as well as several ball fields and dog parks.

Bay Creek Park features seven baseball/softball fields, a football field, a second playground, concession/restroom building, and a lighted track, and is home to Gwinnett County’s first handicapped-accessible ball field and playground for children with special needs. The playground, Unity Place, features a special rubberized surface and includes wheelchair-friendly sandboxes, slides and swings. Bethesda Park, home to the Gwinnett Senior Center, offers adult softball fields, youth baseball/softball fields, football fields, soccer fields, playground, multi-purpose trail, 2 pavilions and concession/restroom areas.  A new indoor aquatics facility recently opened.  225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, 770-564-4680

Collins Hill Park boasts baseball/softball fields with football field overlay, two multi-purpose courts, a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, playgrounds, a pavilion and a multi-purpose trail. Dacula Park is home to an outdoor pool, baseball/softball fields, a stand-alone football field, picnic pavilion, playgrounds, sand volleyball court and one-mile multi-purpose trail.  The park also features the new Dacula Activity Building, which includes a large community room, smaller classroom, four tennis courts, and a 0.6 mile multi-purpose trail. 205 Dacula Road, Dacula, GA 30019, 770-822-5414

At the 304-acre George Pierce Park you can take the .6-mile walking trail or 1.2-mile footpath through unspoiled wetlands, or play on the soccer fields, youth baseball/softball fields, adult softball fields, stand-alone football field, pavilions, playground, a small lake, and a Community Center and Senior Activity Center known as Prime Timers Pointe. 55 Buford Highway, Suwanee, GA 30024, 770-614-2060

Graves Park boasts two tennis courts, an open play area, a pond, playground, several picnic areas, and a one-mile paved multi-purpose trail.  It also includes a dog park that is divided into separate areas for large and small dogs.  1540 Graves Rd., Norcross, GA 30093, 770-822-8840

Holcomb Bridge Park offers great scenic views of the Chattahoochee River. Amenities include two river overlooks, a picnic pavilion, playground, a wooden amphitheatre, a mulch trail, an open-space play area, and restrooms.  The picnic pavilion is available to rent for birthday parties, family reunions, and other gatherings.

Lenora Park offers 178 acres with a gymnasium, community room, pavilion, playground, fishing lake, baseball/softball fields, football field, 1.5-mile multi-purpose trail, an 18-hole disc golf course, aquatic center, and dog park. 4515 Lenora Church Road, Snellville, GA 30058, 770-978-5271

Lions Club Park is home to the Greater Lilburn Atheltic Association and offers year-round youth football, cheerleading, softball, and baseball.  The park has three multi-purpose fields, a concession stand, and restroom facilities.  5500 Rockbridge Circle, Lilburn, GA 30047, 770-822-8819

Little Mulberry Park encompasses 485 acres of an 890-acre park, and features five miles of trails including two one-mile paved multi-purpose trails, a handicap-accessible trail around a pond, and more than two miles of woodland foot trails. Other amenities include a large, rustic-looking picnic pavilion, two smaller picnic pavilions, restrooms, a playground, and an observation terrace at the peak of the West Meadow, which is one of the highest elevations in Gwinnett County.  The park also includes the 405 acre Karina Miller Nature Preserve, additional trails designed for equestrian use, equestrian only parking areas, and a lake with several fishing piers. 3855 Fence Road, Auburn, GA  30011, 770-814-4920

McDaniel Farm Park, a former cotton farm, has been restored to depict a typical 1930s subsistence farm in Gwinnett County. One of the original tenant farmhouses on the property has been restored, as well as the barn, well house, chicken coop, and blacksmith shed. The natural beauty of the park can also be experienced through several recreational amenities, including 2.5 miles of connecting paved multi-purpose trails, a picnic pavilion and a large informal play area. 3251 McDaniel Road, Duluth, GA 30096, 770-814-4920

Mountain Park Aquatic Center features an outdoor leisure pool equipped with two large slides, a play structure with a slide for small children, a lazy river, raining buckets, a bubble bench and vortex area. The facility also features a 25-yard x 25-meter indoor competition pool with 10 lap lanes, a diving well with two diving boards, balcony and poolside seating for more than 500 spectators, and a separate indoor warm water pool ideal for water aerobics, swim lessons, and water therapy. 1063 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087, 770-564-4650

Pinckneyville Community Center plays host to a wide range of recreational and cultural arts classes. Skating enthusiasts love playing at Pinckneyville Park’s public roller hockey/skateboarding facility. Rhodes Jordan Park, Gymnasium, and Aquatic & Community Center in historic downtown Lawrenceville boasts a community center, tennis center and outdoor aquatic center with a waterslide, lazy river and other play features. Ronald Reagan Park is Gwinnett’s first Passive Community Park which is also home to the county’s first dog park, a two-acre fenced area where dogs can play off their leashes. The 25-acre park also boasts a “senior” area with horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, bocce ball courts, and a covered picnic pavilion with permanent chess and checkerboards.
