Committed to Quality, Innovation and Technology

Founded in 1946 in Reinach, Switzerland, Habasit’s aim was to revolutionize the power transmission and conveyor industries by introducing the world’s first fully synthetic belt.

“Our success is rooted in our commitment to quality, innovation and technology,” said Harry Cardillo, CEO, Habasit Belting, Inc.

In 1968, Habasit opened their USA Headquarters office in Atlanta, Georgia, where they maintain a full inventory of Habasit products. In August 2000 Habasit moved to a new 150,000 square foot building. In September 2005, they moved their plastic modular operation to a new 50,000 square foot building. Habasit is currently operating out of two buildings, a total of 200,000 square feet.

As the world’s leading manufacturer of conveyor, plastic modular, seamless, power transmission belts and gearmotors, Habasit offers a full range of belting products and belt joining tools in order to provide the optimal solution for every application. The primary markets served by Habasit include business machines, food, materials handling, packaging, paper, printing, postal, textile and wood.

Habasit runs strong by standing by its mission statement which is to be the global leading provider of power transmission, conveyor systems solutions and gear motors with a high value/price ratio.

“Market share is the key driver of our business and the measure of our success,” said Cardillo. “We are committed to excellence in all aspects, science-based innovation, being close to customers and creating value for them. We strive to provide our associates with meaningful work and advancement opportunities and create value for our partners and shareholders.”

Headquartered in Gwinnett, Habasit supports and provides products and services to a great number of local distributors and end users resulting in making Gwinnett businesses stronger.

Habasit relocated its US Headquarters from Chamblee to Suwanee in 2000. Habasit chose Gwinnett County because of its access to major interstates, airport and number of qualified and available employees.

Since moving to Gwinnett County Habasit has grown dramatically, adding over 100 jobs to its payroll. Habasit recently purchased 25 acres in Suwannee and will build a 350,000 square foot building to encompass it fabrication and corporate office functions.

“By being a member of the Gwinnett Chamber and participating in a number of Chamber activities, Habasit has been better informed on local and regional trends,” said Cardillo.

Habasit currently serves on the Partnership Gwinnett Steering Committee and is a member of Drugs Don’t Work. They are also involved in a number of economic development activities through the Chamber.

As the CEO of one the world’s leading manufacturing companies, Cardillo offers advice to those striving to grow their business.

“You must be an active participant in your organization and your community. Get involved and make a difference. As you contribute to your community, your business will benefit as well,” said Cardillo.
