Gwinnett County Public Schools 

Gwinnett County Public Schools consistently rate among the highest for test scores in the nation and the state, and the teachers, students and staff continually earn state and national awards of excellence. All Gwinnett County high schools offer advanced placement curricula for college preparatory coursework. Within the GCPS system:


  • 63 elementary, 20 middle, 16 high schools, and seven other educational facilities serve more than 152,000 students;
  • Of the nearly 7,500 graduates in 2005-2006, 86 percent planned to attend college/post-secondary schools;
  • Graduates of the class of 2006 received scholarships totaling nearly $51 million (excluding HOPE Scholarships);
  • GCPS students’ 2005-2006 cumulative SAT score was 1541, surpassing the state average of 1477 and the national average of 1518. Cumulative ACT score during the same time period was 21.6, besting the state average of 20.2 and the national average of 21.1.
