Founded in New Jersey in 1945 with roots in commercial cartage and distribution, McCollister’s Transportation Systems rapidly developed a regional reputation for superior home relocation services. An early focus on the quality of the move experience and growing demand for a nation-wide capability led to an affiliation with United Van Lines that has lasted over fifty years and continues successfully today as their top agent.

During the early years, working primarily with the computer and medical equipment industries McCollister’s answered a growing need for then non-existent specialized transportation solutions. Specifications were developed to provide transportation, storage and handling systems which continue to evolve in step with increasingly more sophisticated logistics requirements.

Growth occurred rapidly beginning in the 1970’s. In the mid 1990’s McCollister’s began representing Mayflower Transit in select markets including Gwinnett, to provide an expanded array of services and to fuel continued growth. Today, McCollister’s operates service centers in all major cities throughout the US. Each center provides a full range of storage, moving and logistics services locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Throughout the last half of the 20th century and into the new millennium McCollister’s leads the way in specialized transportation. From information management, innovative technology applications, in-transit and at-rest security programs to quality management systems, packaging and forwarding, international relocation and other supply chain services, no one serves you like they do.

McCollister’s expanded into Gwinnett County in 1985. With the significant growth Gwinnett County has seen over the past 22 years, McCollister’s has been there every step of the way providing quality household relocations, office and industrial moves and transportation of high value products to families and corporations as they have made Gwinnett County their home.

McCollister’s affiliation with the Gwinnett Chamber has been an important ingredient in understanding where the growth in the county is coming from in order to support the inbound transportation with respect to the growth in commerce.

“When corporations and their families evaluate where to live, the Chamber is always their first stop to better understand what the county has to offer. Participation and networking at Chamber events, be it a “Business After Hours” mixer or a informative “Small Business University” class, is the best way to keep you and your business informed on current business trends,” said Wayne Daniels, Senior Vice President & General Manager. “You always leave with a fresh perspective allowing you to create new opportunities for your business, and yes, there is always someone moving!”There is not a product to be offered at McCollister’s as they provide a service, and serve they do. Their service is provided daily by team members who care and show it through their respect to clients by treating them fairly, honestly and professionally. The outcome is then consistent…a client for life.
