If you’re a business member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, your business could save a little—or a lot—on your health insurance premium costs by looking into the MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett (SM) program.
And, if you’re not a member of the Gwinnett Chamber, the examples below should give you good reason to join.
Given certain situations, the amount of money a business can save on insurance premiums through participating in MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett could actually be more than the Chamber dues. Here are two examples of how businesses experienced real cost savings because they were Gwinnett Chamber members and took advantage of MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett.
The first example involves a Gwinnett Chamber-member business saving money two different ways.
Case Study One
First, it moved its health insurance coverage to the underwriting health insurance carrier of the MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett program. This move alone saved the business $1,589.55 annually. Then, by taking advantage of the 5% discount available to them because they were Chamber members participating in MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett, they saved an additional $567.81 annually. This business’ annual total savings was $2,157.36 (or $431.47 per employee covered).
Case Study Two
Another business member of the Gwinnett Chamber also saved money by purchasing the health insurance coverage made available as a part of MemberCare Alliance of Gwinnett—at a 5% discount off their existing insurance premiums. This business saved a total of $2,018.13 a year (or $252.26 per employee covered). They received the same insurance coverage as if they’d been a non-Chamber member—only at reduced premium rates.
This program, part of statewide network of 105 Chambers, was developed especially for small- and medium-sized Chamber-member businesses. It uses large-group buying power to make insurance coverage more affordable through a variety of health insurance products.
