Registering to Vote
New residents are eligible to register to vote in Georgia the first day of residence in the state.
Those who participate in general elections or who contact the Board of Elections at least once every three years remain registered. If registration expires, a voter can re-register at any time.
Voters residing within city limits at registration time are automatically registered to vote in city elections, as well. Voters must be U.S. citizens, at least age 18 (can register at age 17.5), mentally sound, and never convicted of a felony.
Gwinnett’s Public Library Branches serve as voter registration sites.
