The Project Manager Associate is responsible for providing support to the Project Management team as they work to recruit and retain companies, create jobs and bring capital investment to Gwinnett County. The position reports to the Director of Economic Development. The candidate must be able to work seamlessly with the Project Management team, research manager, and creative team in these efforts. This position will enable the Project Management team to focus on business development and complex projects, by working in a critical support capacity for the Project Management Team. The Project Manager Associate will receive training through their support on economic development projects with a Project Manager or Director. This will help develop the core business skills required to become a meaningful contributor to client projects.



  • Coordinate and work with community partners to support the implementation of goals outlined in the Partnership Gwinnett Community and Economic Development strategy
  • Visit with existing companies to develop and build relationships and provide necessary economic development support
  • Track, maintain and actively enhance knowledge of real estate in Gwinnett County
  • Develop and build relationships with economic development partners including real estate professionals, state, regional and utility partners
  • Develop strong working knowledge of Gwinnett and Metro Atlanta business environment
  • Assist Project Management team with responses to Requests for Information (RFI), evaluate communities and properties to determine best options for prospects, develop site packages and community reports, etc.
  • Conduct site/building searches and create related reports
  • Assist Project Management team with planning and execution of prospect visits, including communications with cities, County, CIDs, utility partners, etc.
  • Data verification to maintain our database
  • Assemble prospect packages
  • Assist in developing and updating marketing material
  • Assist in the planning of marketing/business development events
  • Serve as back-up for presentations to internal groups, community groups and others as needed
  • Help identify marketing opportunities (i.e. tradeshows or events for strategic partners, consultants, etc.)
  • Help maintain and update broker/consultant databases
  • Back-up Project Management team for meeting attendance when needed
  • Actively promote the Partnership Gwinnett initiative and serve as “Community Cheerleader for PG”;
  • Provide periodic support for research and Project Management team (as required)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices and methods of budgeting, and purchasing
  • Principles and techniques of sales, marketing and promotion
  • Research and analysis methods and techniques
  • Local and regional business and real estate markets
  • Advanced user of Social Media



  • 4-Year degree in business, economics, engineering, or related area is preferred; degrees in City/Regional Planning, Geography, and Real Estate Development will also be considered
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with economic development professionals at the state, regional and local levels, as well as with potential prospects
  • Business experience outside of economic development (business/financial analyst) is preferred
  • Strong presentation skills are required
  • Self-starter and energetic; quick learner
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in major software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro and the ability to quickly become proficient in Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
  • Experience working with government entities is preferred
  • Must demonstrate high level of professionalism, integrity, responsibility, and accountability
