The Gwinnett Chamber’s 7th Annual Button Down Dash 5K & 10K, presented by Gwinnett Medical Center, was held on Saturday, August 11. The race kicked off at the Gwinnett Chamber parking lot, where it also concluded. The Button Down Dash was created in an effort to help drive the greater Gwinnett County area toward becoming the healthiest community in the state of Georgia while providing an opportunity to give back through fundraising and donations. Proceeds from this year’s race benefited the Primerica Foundation.
More than 985 runners participated in this year’s Button Down Dash. Leading the pack was 5K winner, 32 year-old Ryan Tims, and 10K winner, 51 year-old Kenyrik Alexis. More than 630 participants were a part of a team, with Pak-Lite and Primerica bringing the most team members.
Following the races, participants took part in the finish line festivities, including a DJ, sponsor booths with food and other concessions, along with an awards ceremony.
