Gwinnett Manufacturing & Supply Chain Companies Honored at Inaugural Awards

Local Business Nominations now being accepted for the 2012 Movers and Makers Awards 

(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) January 9, 2012- Partnership Gwinnett, the community and economic development initiative driving the community’s last five years of economic success, announces the launch of its inaugural Movers and Makers Awards, honoring local Manufacturing and Supply Chain companies. Nominations are open now until January 20, 2012 for companies that have been in business for three years in the County, and are involved in the manufacturing, processing or distributing of a tangible product.

Awards will be given in each of the following categories and will be selected from all qualified entries. Makers (Manufacturer) Awards include awards for companies Small (0-74 employees), Medium (75-149 employees), and Large (150+ employees). Movers (Supply Chain) Award Categories include Supply Chain Pioneer Award and Green Supply Chain Award. Nominations are also currently being accepted for the MVP Award- Most Valuable Provider Award. “We believe that providing recognition and exposure for our amazing local businesses will further develop their competiveness and ultimately drive existing industry expansions and job creation,” said Troels Adrian, Business Development Manager, Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics at Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development. “Our community is one of the Southeastern hubs for the manufacturing and supply chain industries – businesses that utilize our excellent workforce and transportation infrastructure to compete in today’s truly global marketplace.”

Recipients will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 22, 2012 at The 1818 Club in Duluth. The event will recognize these innovative companies, and feature Jonas Prising as the keynote speaker. Prising is President of the Americas for ManpowerGroup, the global workforce solutions leader.

Judges presiding over the awards include: Rob Doyle, President, Amware Logistics; J. Michael Gerster, President, WIKA Instrument Corporation; Bill Ritsch, North Metro Atlanta Regional Manager, Georgia Tech Manufacturing Extension Partnership; and Page Siplon, Executive Director, Georgia Center of Innovation for Logistics.
