The Gwinnett Chamber‘s monthly series, ON TOPIC, held on Wednesday, March 28, featured a candid conversation about transportation with Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Russell McMurry and Georgia Regional Transportation Authority & State Road and Tollway Authority Executive Director Christopher Tomlinson.
“Mobility is critical to the region’s advancement,” said Dr. Dan Kaufman, Gwinnett Chamber President & CEO. “Working together works and we are pleased to host Commissioner McMurry and Christopher Tomlinson.”
Transportation has been a hot button issue for the region for some time. Metro Atlanta will add 2.5 million people to its population and is expected to reach 8 million over the next 20 years. Gwinnett County is projected to be the region’s largest county by 2040, with a population of 1.35 million. While this explosive growth brings many positives, it is imperative we have the infrastructure and transportation systems in place to support it. The experts discussed their stand during this informative program.
