Buford

Beginning in 1872 as the namesake of railroad president A.S. Buford, whose railroad linked Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C., Buford today is experiencing exponential growth.

Located between Suwanee and Flowery Branch along Highway 20 on the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Lake Sidney Lanier, Buford is expanding its business base and reputation. Known since 1873 for the famous Bona Allen Tannery and its handmade saddles, Buford maintains a keen balance between a thriving business community and a center for the arts. The main street shops, boutiques, and restaurants offer a charming local taste to visitors. This range of assets suits the town’s approximately 12,000 residents just fine.
