Ed From has been involved in the printing business for most of his life. He has seen the evolvement from Letterpress (Hot Type) to Offset (Cold Type), that is where his company slogan comes from, "Yesterday's Skills - Today's Technology" After graduating from Northeast Louisiana University, it was only natural to stay involved in the printing industry. His degree was in Computers and Management and the print industry was evolving to the computer era at that time.
In 1995, he quit his day time job and decided it was time to start his own company. Pre-Press to Printing has grown from selling printing out of a spare bedroom to buying his first press and working out of the back of a friends bindery company. In 1998, a friend was filing for bankruptcy and he talked Ed into taking over his phone lines and lease. From there Ed bought the assets of the company from the bankruptcy court. He has never looked back.
Pre-Press To-Printing, Inc., has been a member of Printing Imaging Association of Georgia and has been recognized by the association's with Print Excellence Awards for many years. During that time, Pre-Press has won over 125 awards for Print Excellence. For several years Pre-Press tied for the most Best of Categories in the State of Georgia for printers with fewer than 20 employees. The award Pre-Press is most proud of are those in the "They said It couldn't be done" category, the top award in the state of Georgia. This was for creativity and production on a wedding invitation that was actually a message in a bottle. PIAG is not the only place to recognize Pre-Press's excellence. The City of Suwanee has entered several different jobs that Pre-Press To-Printing has produced for them in national competitions and has had the enjoyment of receiving awards on 3 different occasions.
In December, 2003, Ed and his wife purchased an acre on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard with the dream of constructing their own building. That dream was completed in July, 2007 when Ed moved his plant into the new location. His wife joined him in the new location, moving her CPA practice to the same building in August 2008.
