Sid Theus began American Painting and Renovations, Inc. (APR) in 1991 with his brother Chris Theus. Together, they have provided thousands of customers with quality service for over 23 years. APR’s attention to detail and aspiration for excellence has earned the company a place on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2007, 2008 and 2009. APR has also been acknowledged locally in Georgia by receiving the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Small Business Award in 2014 (top 25), 2007, 2011 and 2012, as well as the Public Service award in 2014. These prestigious honors are a continual testament to the years of dedication and commitment to providing prompt, reliable, cost-effective services.
APR has grown exponentially in the residential, commercial and multi-family property industries because of quality workmanship, competitive pricing and reliable service to all of their customers. APR is currently licensed in thirty-three states and has no plans to stop there! The company and the subcontractors perform a host of renovation and construction services across the country, including apartment-to-condo conversions and interior and exterior renovations. American Painting also provides the residential, commercial and multi-family communities with services such as exterior painting, concrete, roofing, stucco, siding, gutter replacement, carpentry, welding and much more.
Sid has been dedicated to the economic growth and development of the county. Sid has been a valued member of the Gwinnett Chamber for 13 years, serving on the Board of Directors since 2008. Currently, Sid is on the Executive Committee and serves as a Vice-Chair of Membership Services and Chairman’s Club. He has been Vice-Chair of the Chamber’s seven previous membership campaigns. This year, Sid proudly accepted the position of Co-Chair of the annual campaign, which was a record-breaking success, raising over 1 million dollars in sponsorships for the Chamber’s programs.
Sid has graciously been involved with over 40 charities throughout the years. He and his wife, Cindy, have served on multiple boards for groups like Jaden’s Ladder, Enable of Georgia and the Gwinnett County Development Authority. Sid finds it important to give back to the community by donating to organizations such as the Atlanta Food Bank, Boy Scouts of America and Gwinnett County Youth Athletics and OpenArms.
