Gwinnett Young Professionals (YP) is excited to celebrate its accomplishments and its first anniversary with a birthday bash. The Gwinnett Young Professionals is a personal and professional development program led by the Gwinnett Chamber in partnership with Georgia Gwinnett College. The program encourages young business people to develop and enhance leadership skills, exchange ideas, share common interests, learn more about the area’s business community and engage in the community’s future. The group targets individuals who are ages 21 to 35ish.
Since January, more than 550 young professionals have attended the 32 events hosted by YP designed specifically for the young professional community in metro Atlanta. In addition, YP launched its Leadership Institute and, by December, will have graduated 55 young professionals with a greater understanding of leadership and skills necessary for career growth.
“We understand the importance of building a network of support to grow and sustain our young professional community here in Gwinnett County. This is why we developed our young professionals program on four core pillars: leadership development, professional development, community involvement and social connections,” said Vince DeSilva, senior vice president, membership services at the Gwinnett Chamber. “We were able to make an impact on many young professionals in 2016 and hope to continue to do the same and grow our program in 2017.”
To celebrate its year of accomplishments, YP is hosting a One-Year Anniversary Bash 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Eagle Rock Distributing Company. To register or for more information, visit gwinnettyoungprofessionals.com.
