J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA named September Nonprofit of the Month

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a not-for-profit association whose mission is to promote healthy spirit, mind and body. The J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA consists of a membership facility in Lawrenceville, six after school program sites, two Early Learning Readiness sites and outdoor camp location.

The Y believes all people, especially children, deserve an equal chance to reach their full potential and should prepare themselves to connect and serve community. The YMCA’s Vision is to be the organization recognized for bringing people together to champion communities where everyone belongs.

The Y’s four main pillars of emphasis include: Empowering Healthy Living, Ensuring School Readiness, Improving Academic Achievement and Inspiring Civic Leadership.

The YMCA also offers signature programs for all ages. From swim lessons, safety around water, youth sports, wellness classes, senior programs and so much more, the Y seeks to provide programs and services that foster engagement, a sense of belonging and promote an overall sense of well-being. It’s a place to connect and make friends at any stage of life.

Through the YMCA’s Why It Matters annual giving campaign, dollars are raised to support any and all who wish to join the Y or participate in programs. The Y turns no one away based on their inability to pay.
