The Gwinnett Chamber serves as the collective voice of business. Success does not happen by accident. What we do makes a difference in the greater good of the community. The Member Services Coordinator (MSC) will support a plethora of programs, while contributing to the administrative element of the Member Services Department (MSD). So, what does that mean exactly? Check it out!
THE PROGRAM DETAILS
The Member Services Department (MSD) plans 150 events annually. The programs listed below are designed to engage current and potential Chamber members. The Member Services Coordinator (MSC) will support the Senior Manager in the execution of these events. Side note: These programs are industry specific to Chambers of Commerce. Unless you have worked for a Chamber, you may not be familiar with them, but do not worry. We provide on-the-job training.
An extension of Gwinnett Chamber staff, Ambassadors are volunteers who donate their time and talent to engage, encourage, and expand business relationships on behalf of the organization.
This monthly affair brings the fun! It is Gwinnett’s largest networking event, reaching nearly 2,000 professionals annually. Held in a variety of locations, it provides a platform for members to build their business in an easygoing atmosphere.
Getting new members properly engaged is an imperative first step for them to maximize their membership. This bi-monthly onboarding event outlines the Gwinnett Chamber’s programs and services to help members maximize their return on investment.
This program provides a forum offering professional development and business building opportunities that enhance and engage women leaders in Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta.
Designed to generate leads, this weekly event allows attendees to practice their pitch and share potential clients with each other.
Often highlighting an up-and-coming change, Ribbon Cuttings enhance member exposure by celebrating a new business, location, product, or service.
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The MSD is responsible for planning ALL event details from beginning to end, including content creation, coordinating the logistics, managing onsite execution, and tracking effectiveness. As an integral part of this team, you will participate in all elements.
Branding sets the tone of an event and dictates a perceived value. Working with the Marketing & Communications team, the MSD provides content and guidance for program promotions.
Best-in-class events are not possible without proper financial backing. The MSD is charged with aligning sponsors and programs to deliver optimal quality and sponsor visibility.
The MSD, in collaboration across teams, is responsible for the total member experience. From Gwinnett Chamber 101 to the collateral they receive during membership renewals, the little administrative touches make a lasting impression.
OTHER NOTABLE MENTIONS
The Chamber is in the people business. Developing and maintaining relationships both internally and externally is imperative in this role.
In person, by email, by letter, on the phone, verbally and non-verbally—the MSC will need stellar communication skills to be successful in the job.
Like Georgia-based Chick-Fil-A, the Chamber seeks to provide high-level professional service “with a smile” to all members. Every team member at the Gwinnett Chamber contributes to this experience.

THE FINE PRINT
